With great enthusiasm is officially opened AIBA World Championships Milan 2009, in Italy, with the Midelanium Forum as the venue of the event, from 1-12 September of the current year.
More than 550 participants from 144 countries will be competing in this event, where expectations and emotions are quite high among the countries represented; much more for those participants who had never the opportunity to participate in an World Championship, and now is possible thanks to the benefit programs implemented by AIBA.
The International Boxing Association said that for this Championship will be the first time to assign the best boxers on the top of the seeds, taking into account international results provided by Chicago'07 ranking.
Further, in the competitive calendar, the first six days will include three sessions, the semifinals will be on September 11 and the finals a day later.
