Brazil and Canada headed first day of 2009 Americas Female Championships

Guayaquil, -Ecuador: Brazil and Canada headed the first competition day of the 2009 Americas Female Championships that was opened on October 5 with the participation of 13 countries and 62 boxers. Both amounts are new records in this Continental event. Brazil won four bouts and Canada three for leaders the tournament.
During a wonderful opening ceremony was presented a special guest Jessica Pop from Argentina, who won many continental titles with Argentina team and now is world champion in professional boxing.
Other great attraction is Mary Spencer, 64kgs, current World Champion and compete in representation of Canada.
The Championships will be close on October 8 with ten bouts.
