Team America's representative with most significant bout in the 2009 AIBA President´s Cup

The triumph of Ecuadorian boxer, light heavyweight, Carlos Gongora, could be the most significant and courageous fight from the entire 2009 AIBA President Cup. Gongora, America 1's team representative, came back from a score of 8:1 to 14:10 to beat Alimuradov Rizvan from team Europe 1 and thus to achieve its place in the finals.
The Dominican Boxer and 2008 AIBA Youth World Championship bronze medalist Luis Miguel Diaz, connected three solid hits in the last minute of the first round against his opponent Stefan Slavcheva of Bulgaria from Team Europe 1 for the win. Diaz will fight against Birzhan Zhakypov of Kazakhstan from Team Asia 2 in the finals.
Team America 2's representative for the 91Kg weight category Julio Castillo Torres, beat the Asian boxer Ali Mazaheri by a wide vantage of points. Castillo beat Mazaheri with a total score of 7:3, thus placing him into the last stage of the 2009 AIBA President's Cup.
