Cuban Youth Boxing Team emphasized its leadership in the Youth Continental Championship 2010.

Last night, the Cuban youth boxing team emphasized its leadership in the Youth Continental Championship, after completing the third session, where boxers from 15 countries are competing for the Gold in the America´s Youth Championship 2010 in the Gran Arena del Cibao "Doctor Gobaira Oscar" of Santiago, Dominican Republic.
Cubans dominate the competition, while Guatemala displaced Puerto Rico and moved into second place and relegated to third position to the Boricua´s boxers.
Yosvany Veitía Soto defeated 15-14, by closed ballot, the Dominican Juan Gabriel Medina, at 48 kilos in a tight bout that remained standing the crowd.
The Brazilian Gilson Barros won 4-1 to Wellinton Weathely, Ecuador, at 54 kilos; Jeyson Minda, Ecuador, defeated 9-5 to Allan Costa of Brazil, at 60 kilos.
The Puerto Rican Felix Verdejo won 14.2 to Juan Jonelvi Medina from Dominican Republic, at 54 kilos, meanwhile, Mycol Tello defeated by point 13-2 Gilberto Pedroza of Panama, at 48 kilos.
The Mexican Daniel Echeverria won 16-4 to Antonio Ortiz, Puerto Rico, at 60 kilos.
