Cuba, Colombia y Brazil achieved victories in the third day of Youth World Championships 2010
The boxers Norlan Yera Diaz (57 kilos) and Frank Sanchez Faure (75) belonging to the Cuban team, beat their respective rivals in the third day World Youth Championship, held in Baku, Azerbaijan, and which is a qualifier for the first Youth Olympic Games.
Yera Diaz won by points 19-4 to Tuoerwutayi Sai of China, while Frank Sanchez knocked out the Mongolian boxer Boldkhuyag Gunbazar to advanced with these victories, the next phase of the event which brings together 466 boxers from 90 countries.
Similarly, Colombian boxers John Sánchez León 64 kg and Palacio Carrillo 75 kg, defeated in their bouts Warakorn Rakmak of Thailand and Elver Eren from Turkey, respectively.
Brazil also obteined a victory from David Laurenciano da Costa, who won by points, 6-1 to Pazziyev Nursahat from Turky.
So far, Russia, Turkey and the hosts held first place in the event with 10 men competing, escorted by the Cubans and Hungarians with nine, while Germany, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan maintain eight active athletes.
