Cuba retains crown in the Youth World Boxing Championship 2010
Cuba crowned three of its four finalists and obtained the scepter by countries in the Youth World Championship concluded today in Baku, The Azerbaiján's capital.
The Victories of Robeisis Ramirez, Irosvani Duverger and Leinier Perot raised to 38 points overcoming Azerbaiján (31), Russia (27) and India (22).
Ramirez beat the Indian Shiva Thapa 14-1, Duverger 7-0 over the Uzbek Sardorbek Begaliev and Perot allowed no points 11-0 to Russian Alexander Ivanov.
At the end of the finals, Cubans had a defeat achieving one silver medal by Norlan Year who lost 3-10 by German Artur Bril.
The total of medals was completed by Yosvani Veitía and was better than Azerbaijan (2-0-1), India (1-1-0) and Ireland (1-1-0).
Among eight countries at the finals and 466 boxers in the event, Cuba won 28 of his 36 bouts, retaining the throne reached in Guadalajara'08 and the sum raised 69-20-23 being a leader of these youth events.
Brazil with a Gold medal is ranked 13, emerging as the second best country in the Americas.
