Costa Rica achieved first place in Women's Central American Boxing Championships

The Costa Rican delegation overcame to the other federations with female representation in the Central American Boxing Championship obtaining gold in 5 categories of the competition held in San José, Costa Rica.

Gonzalez Anyela 46 kg, Kristel Angulo 48 kg, Carolina Arias 54 kg, and Pamela Sanchez 57 kg andPaola Cubillo 81 kg, were the Costa Rican boxers who defeated their opponents categorically to win gold medals in their respective categories.

Pamela Sanchez, who won in the final to Andrea Solórzano, 11 to 10, was awarded the most technical boxer of the event, which helped his team get a total of 15 points over other countries, Panama and El Salvador concluded with a total of 5 and 3 points, respectively.

In Male and Female Central American boxing championship  participated all countries of the region and was held in the National Gymnasium from Thursday 20 to Sunday May 23 and over 60 boxers took part of it.
