Puerto Rico on the top of the Game in Central American and Caribbean boxing tounament

Led by a masterful performance of Jose Pedraza, the Puerto Rico delegation shone tonight in the boxing tournament of the Central American and Caribbean Games, winning four bouts and thus ensure an equal number of medals.

Pedraza, silver medalist in the the Last World Boxing Championship, explosively knocked out Barbado´s Omar Ward, while he was winning 5-0 in the first round. The Puertorican, favorite for the gold in his division, did not break his opponent.

Another boxer that the Puerto Rican fans enjoy was Camilo Perez, who also save his move to the 54kg medal by dominating the Mexican widely Elias Emigdio by a score of 18-7. Perez, with an effective boxing, managed to establish its rhythm from the very first round, which ended 7-2 lead.

Today, the action begins at 5:00 pm. In total, four Puerto Ricans will seek to ensure medals, when Braulio Santos (57 kg), Enrique Collazo (75 kg), Jose Santiago (91kg) and Jonathan Gonzalez (51kg) climb into the ring.
