Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico tied in the first place in Mayaguez

The boxers of Puerto Rico Jonathan Gonzalez and Enrique Collazo added their name into the list of medalists in the Central American and Caribbean Games by winning their respective matches in the quarterfinals, while likewise Dominican boxers Roberto Navarro and Joel Cabrera added necessary points to provide the tie with 11 points in yesterday's boxing.

Jonathan Gonzalez (PUR), 19 and Youth World Champion (51kg) easily dominated the Dominican William Alcantara 18-8 in a match in which he grew a 9-2 advantage in the first round.

Otherwise, also a representative of Puerto Rico, Collazo staged a technical and defensive battle, beating, 3-1, to Nicaraguan Carlos Sequeira, in 75kg.
